SimPlus has recently signed a partnership agreement with Singapore Cruise Centre Private Limited (SCCPL) to jointly develop a Cruise and Ferry Terminal Simulation tool (CRAFTS), a suite of simulation programs for feasibility study, planning and design of marine passenger terminal operations. With CRAFTS, SCCPL will be able to differentiate itself from other competitors in the international cruise industry by redefining the consultancy standard and creating greater value for SCCPL’s customers. CRAFTS also paves the way for SimPlus to explore a new area in the maritime sector.
Asia Pacific regional market is acknowledged by the cruise industry to be the new ‘playground’ for cruising; not just offering new destinations and itineraries but also contributing to growing cruise passengers. SCCPL’s unique position in operating hybrid cruise-ferry terminals alongside at one location, with 18 years of experience in managing cruise and ferry terminal and proven credentials of having won numerous Dream World Cruise Destination Magazine Awards since 1997 enables SCCPL to be the ideal test-bed for the development of the simulation tools by offering ‘live’ data and environment.
SimPlus values this partnership with SCCPL, with their relevant expert input in enhancing the simulation parameters and capabilities, and together, we look forward to sharing CRAFTS with developing regional ports in the region, using Singapore as the test-bed and reference model.
