A year since SimPlus and Singapore Cruise Centre Private Limited (SCCPL) established a strategic alliance, the co-developed tool, Cruise and Ferry Terminal Simulator (CRAFTS), is now ready to be successfully rolled out. CRAFTS was built based on SimPlus’ Passenger Terminal Simulation (PTS) platform, and devised as a simulation tool targeted at cruise and ferry terminals, for the purpose of terminal design, feasibility studies and capacity planning.
CRAFTS is the first of its kind in the market that is devised by a direct industry practitioner and supported by real-life statistics and data. With CRAFTS to visualize and validate design concepts and to quantitatively analyze operations for the best terminal setup, SCCPL-SimPlus partnership is on its way to redefine the consultancy standard and create greater value for their customers.
In the words of Jay Pang (Vice President, Operations, SCCPL), “We are indeed blessed by a team at SimPlus who are also knowledgeable with port operations processes. This had allowed us to easily communicate the intricacy of the passenger terminal operations to the development team, and for them to effectively translate our articulations into realistic computer simulation. I see great potential in our partnership of domain knowledge for further development of pragmatic passenger terminal planning and operational tools.”
