The MINT Fund is an initiative established by Maritime and Port Authority, Singapore, to build up maritime R&D capabilities and develop Singapore as an International Maritime Centre.
SimPlus, as a rapidly growing company, continuously brings technologies and innovation from concept to operations. Its efforts and achievements in elevating the service level of Singapore maritime industry are acknowledged and this leads to the grant of the fund. “Such support and recognition from the Government will largely encourage our young but experienced company to unleash its potential in helping the maritime industry excel in the global competition,” said Co-founder and Director Stuti Nautiyal.
“The funding comes at the right time when SimPlus is at a critical stage of extending its services as a vertically integrated solutions provider for the maritime industry,” added Co-founders and Directors Chen Chuanyu and Ye Rong.

The strategic partnership signifies the joint effort by both companies to facilitate fact-based decision making for port design and planning that conventionally rely on heuristics and rules of thumb.
On the 15th of November, SimPlus signed an MoU with Surbana International Consultants’ Executive Vice President Mr Loh Yan Hui. Surbana is a renowned engineering consulting firm with a diverse portfolio and global reach, with their consultancy services covering master and urban planning of township and port projects and total infrastructure and transportation planning and management. Through the MoU, the strategic partners ‘recorded the broad basis and principles of their collaboration in providing Port Master Planning, Container Port Development, Total Port Operations Simulation and Data Mining Solutions, including but not limited to the planning, design and management of port projects including berths, stacking yards, gates and other projects involving port logistics’.

Through innovative technology-based services, SimPlus will offer its customers modeling and simulation capabilities that enable them to streamline their operations, thereby saving them time and money. The spinning off of SimPlus is a significant step following the founders’ extensive experience in R&D and test-bedding of simulation applications in port operations. Co-founders Ye Rong, Chen Chuanyu and Stuti Nautiyal have been working as a team for more than 5 years and have rallied together now with the aspiration of making this venture a thumping success. They believe that “…to start with SimPlus will be targeting three main customer segments: terminal operators, port authorities and port development consultants, who serve the 2,800 commercially active ports across the globe. Thereafter we would also like to serve other members of the logistics industry.” Such local expertise will help to further enhance Singapore’s impetus towards being a international maritime centre. This team of directors also plans to take its technology overseas where there is a growing maritime market.
