SimPlus at Singapore Maritime Gallery

SimPlus at Singapore Maritime Gallery

Singapore opened its Maritime Gallery amid great fanfare in September 2012. SimPlus is proud to have contributed its bit to the displays at SMG. Find us at “Zone 7: R&D in our IMC”, where SimPlus’ AnchorageView system is featured.

AnchorageView is a real-time anchorage monitoring and planning tool for efficient management of anchorages. The system can easily be configured corresponding to any operational channel planned for the port so that the transition can take place seamlessly. It also captures usage related statistics and displays them in the form of configurable reports.

SimPlus’ Passenger Traffic Simulation to be applied to Abu Dhabi Airport

SimPlus’ Passenger Traffic Simulation to be applied to Abu Dhabi Airport

SimPlus is working with Singapore’s Certis Cisco Securities to provide consultancy solutions for immigration manpower review at Abu Dhabi’s airport terminals.

After having applied the in-house simulation tools to marine terminals, SimPlus is now applying them to study the passenger flow in the airport immigration area, as well as to determine whether proposed solutions can adequately meet the target service levels.

AnchorageView version 2 at MPA’s new Control Centre

AnchorageView version 2 at MPA’s new Control Centre

An upgraded version of the AnchorageView system has been commissioned at MPA’s newest control centre (POCC3). The system was completed in time to handle the several changes planned by MPA for anchorage operations from June 2012.

In addition to existing features from version 1 (which won the 2010 Minister’s Innovation Award: Distinguished category) , AnchorageView now allows greater flexibility to the user in terms of setting up the anchorage details and usage guidelines, together with other related parameters. The system can now easily be configured corresponding to any operational channel planned for the port and the transition can take place seamlessly.

Key anchorage usage related statistics are also captured by the system and displayed to the user in the form of configurable reports. This will allow MPA to easily monitor any anchorage usage patterns on a regular basis, thus also helping to flag out any unusual behavior or trends at the earliest.

With this latest version, SimPlus has done another small bit to further improve the efficiency of the port, and plan for the growth in the future.

SimPlus solutions in Malaysia

SimPlus solutions in Malaysia

SimPlus will be working with DHI Malaysia, to provide marine and port facilities planning for the Pengerang master plan development phase II. The scope of the study covers a marine risk assessment of the region around the new development, given the forecasted traffic levels and activity in the area.

This marks SimPlus’ first project with DHI’s Malaysian arm, and SimPlus looks forward to a successful partnership together.

Vessel Traffic Management (VTM) system version 2.0 now afloat

Vessel Traffic Management (VTM) system version 2.0 now afloat

VTM version 2.0 has been rolled out. The revamped tool allows user to setup a waterway network, define visiting nodes for vessels and patterns of call, as well as generate vessel traffic by providing specifications of component parameters.Simulation runs can identify risk in different parts of the waterway network, under different traffic levels and operations scenarios. Approaches to ease the situation can also be evaluated to quantitatively evaluate their impact before they are implemented.

SimPlus’ VTM has been applied for projects in Singapore and Malaysia. Contact us at marketing@simplus.sg to find out more and to request for a brochure.
