CTS version 2.0 has been rolled out. It boasts a comprehensive easy to use GUI (Graphical User Interface) which provides the user flexibility in setting up a simulation model of a container terminal and its operations from scratch. Inbuilt libraries of different equipments and related handling strategies allow the user to configure the terminals from among various options.
CTS can be applied for various objectives, such as design and setup a new Greenfield terminal, capacity assessment of an existing terminal and bottleneck detection and performance enhancement of existing operations, among others.
SimPlus’ CTS has been applied for projects with PSA International, PSA Corporation, MPA Singapore and Jurong Port.

SimPlus is working with Singapore’s Certis Cisco Securities to provide consultancy solutions for immigration manpower review at Abu Dhabi’s airport terminals.
After having applied the in-house simulation tools to marine terminals, SimPlus is now applying them to study the passenger flow in the airport immigration area, as well as to determine whether proposed solutions can adequately meet the target service levels.

An upgraded version of the AnchorageView system has been commissioned at MPA’s newest control centre (POCC3). The system was completed in time to handle the several changes planned by MPA for anchorage operations from June 2012.
In addition to existing features from version 1 (which won the 2010 Minister’s Innovation Award: Distinguished category) , AnchorageView now allows greater flexibility to the user in terms of setting up the anchorage details and usage guidelines, together with other related parameters. The system can now easily be configured corresponding to any operational channel planned for the port and the transition can take place seamlessly.
Key anchorage usage related statistics are also captured by the system and displayed to the user in the form of configurable reports. This will allow MPA to easily monitor any anchorage usage patterns on a regular basis, thus also helping to flag out any unusual behavior or trends at the earliest.
With this latest version, SimPlus has done another small bit to further improve the efficiency of the port, and plan for the growth in the future.
