Given the recent change of container traffic calling on their terminal, the JPPL management requires to evaluate and improve the ITH trucking situation in their daily operations.
Jurong Port’s Container Terminal, which came into operation in mid-2001, has consecutively won the “Best Emerging Container Terminal Operator – Asia” Award at the renowned Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) in the past five years. With the increase in container traffic between its terminal and other local ports, there is an urgent need to efficiently transfer these inter-terminal containers. For this purpose SimPlus will develop a planning model specific to the inter-terminal trucking of containers to and from Jurong Port, and use it to evaluate the ITH trucking and propose improved planning strategies. The associated costing is also to be taken into account and is in-built in the model.
“We believe in fostering a long term relationship with our clients, assisting them in their endeavour to excel and excelling with them”, says Stuti Nautiyal, a Director of SimPlus. Says Director Ye Rong “…in-house we maintain such tools developed and customized for clients, so as to be able to cater to their urgent recurring needs in future”.
